GROCER AND GRIND.
Like Sisterfields, Grocer and Grind is a long-standing institution in the Bali cafe culture scene.
Welcoming Westerners and targeted at ex-pats seeking good coffee, they also offer their very own organic six-bean blend.
Centrally located in the heart of Seminyak, close to Seminyak Square and the water garden, complete with live goldfish, provides a welcoming entrance for those wanting to escape the heat.
The cafe is convenient to access, with ample parking for scooters at the front of the store. Once inside, this modern restaurant is large and open plan, so it is not difficult to find a table. The timber décor is minimalist in design, with large artwork decorating the walls to draw attention.
Renowned as the first of its kind in Bali, Grocer and Grind not only offers great coffee but dishes from all around the world, drawing inspiration from The Middle East, Mexico, Australia and Mexico.
The crew and I stopped by for a late brunch one day whilst on a layover in Bali. I ordered a steak sandwich with a side of wedges. I also returned once with another Flight Attendant and her friends from Australia. They had travelled to Bali many times and told me stories of the early days of holidaying in Seminyak, when cafes such as this were first emerging!
The food was simple, yet satisfying and whilst the store design probably won’t ‘wow’ you, the menu is extensive, therefore Grocer and Grind is definitely worth adding to your Brunch in Bali BUCKET LIST.
